Training Department Move to Bigger and Better Facilities.
On the 8th of March 2009, wmsnt's training team moved into their new facilities at Park Road.
The team had been based at the old Windsor Street site for the past eleven and a half years and had very much outgrown the facilities there.
The new training suite boasts two air conditioned classrooms that are separated by a removable partition wall. This can be opened to create a single large room if required. Senior Training Officer, John Gidlow, had this to say about the new premises; "Our first course on the new site was an induction course for 27 new starters with the Company. These were mostly drivers to cover the recent increase in the home to school contracts we have won. We were able to seat all 27 at desks and complete the course on schedule. This would have been simply impossible at the Windsor Street site. The whole team are delighted with this resource, it will make a real difference to the quality of work we are able to produce."
In addition to the regular Induction and Refresher training, the next issue on the agenda for the department is to get all 150 of wmsnt's Home to School drivers through their NVQ qualification.
