Crossroads - Moving and Handling/First Aid Training
Crossroads Caring for Carers provide Moving and Handling and/or First Aid training in the home, for family members and friends (carers) providing substantial and regular care for an adult or a child who has a disability, limiting long-term illness, mental health problem, or frailty due to age, and who lives in Birmingham.
Accessing the Service
1. The service is available to carers in Birmingham, and is provided FREE OF CHARGE.
2. Referrals to the scheme can be made by carers, or by those representing or assisting them.
3. Crossroads staff will arrange for an assessment in the carers home.
4. Any other specific requirements to ensure the training is effective and appropriate will be noted and whenever possible be addressed - including Carers who communicate in other languages and any gender issues.
5. Following the training period, follow-up contact will be maintained on a 6 monthly basis.
