Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life is the largest women-only fundraising event in the UK.

Since 1994, women of all ages and fitness levels across the UK have come together at these inspiring events.

Some take part in celebration of surviving a cancer experience. Others take part in memory of a loved one or to give hope to a cancer-free future. But all of them share a common goal: to raise money for Cancer Research UK’s pioneering work to beat cancer.

Every pound raised in sponsorship goes towards their vital work. This includes funding the work of over 4,500 scientists, doctors and nurses who are dedicated to help more people beat cancer.

So far four million women have helped to continue Cancer Research UK’s life-saving work by raising over £240 million in sponsorship for their events.

Race for Life events take place between May and July and are open to women across the UK. There is no prize for first place – you can walk, jog or run the 5k course. Almost half of Race for Life participants chose to walk at their event.

This year, Cancer Research UK hope 680,000 women will do something amazing and come together to raise £62.5 million to help beat cancer.

Good luck to all taking part!
