wmsnt is a regionally based charity, and a company limited by guarantee, whose aim is to improve the social well-being of all people of the West Midlands who find it difficult or impossible to use conventional public transport. wmsnt operates the Ring and Ride service throughout the seven metropolitan districts of the West Midlands, largely funded by Centro, the transport authority. wmsnt also contracts with individual local authorities for the provision of home to school transport for children attending SEN schools in the area.

The Charity employs 700 paid staff, operates a fleet of 385 accessible minibuses from eight depots across the West Midlands, and has 85,000 registered passengers of all its services.

FULL TIME DRIVER

You will be required to drive a mini bus transporting passengers to and from scheduled addresses. Daily duties include operating special handling equipment, collecting fares and maintaining the vehicle to a clean, tidy and safe standard.

Applicants must have driving experience and a clean driving licence with category D1 or hold a PCV licence. You should be adaptable, be able to follow standard operating procedures, enjoy working in a logical and systematic manner, be organised, a good listener, approachable and friendly. Good area knowledge is advantageous.

Hours are 38.75 per week on a shift rota basis, working 5 days Monday to Sunday.

PART-TIME EDUCATION DRIVER

Duties include, working with an Escort, transporting children with disabilities to and from School. Applicants by law must have driving experience and a clean driving licence with category D1 or a PCV licence. Successful applicants will be required to complete an Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau check.

You should be adaptable and be able to follow standard operating systems, appreciating the needs of our young passengers. We offer free uniform, pro-rata holiday pay, plus benefits.

The working hours are approximately 4.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday term time only.

CUSTOMER SUPPORT OFFICER

WOLVERHAMPTON DEPOT

As a member of the Depot team, the Customer Support Officer has to relate well with other members of the team and to the general public, especially the users of the service, and have knowledge and understanding of their individual needs and at the same time taking into consideration to our need to provide an effective service.

The successful applicant will report on a daily basis to the Senior Customer Support Officer. They will receive and process trip requests from service users, to generate trips in an efficient, accurate and courteous manner. The will receive telephone bookings, correctly enter bookings into the computer and receive and enter postal and advanced bookings when required. The ability to resolve user queries and complaints which are within the job holder’s knowledge using L.E.A.R.N will be necessary as will assessing all driving schedules for the shift using experience and knowledge of the operating area, to identify possible errors.

Sound communication and interpersonal skills are essential with a strong sense of team work and a co-operative and pro-active approach in supporting and assisting other team members.

You will be required to work 5 days per week on a rota basis, including weekends.
