Brand new buses take to the road

Ring and Ride passengers living in Coventry will benefit from three brand new buses as part of a fleet replacement programme across the region.

The company is also taking the opportunity of naming the new vehicles after their longest standing passengers – some of which have been using the door-to-door service for over 30 years.

David Bermingham, Chief Executive for West Midlands Special Needs Transport who operate the Ring and Ride service, said he was delighted to be introducing the new vehicles in Coventry, “I’m honoured to be launching the first of our new vehicles in the Coventry area. Despite the recent cuts in Government funding this investment cements our commitment in continuing to provide our vital service to the people of Coventry.”

He added “we wanted to mark the occasion by thanking those passengers who have been travelling with us the longest, so the top three longstanding users of Ring and Ride have their names displayed on both sides of the new vehicles.”
